Start using our certified e-prescribing system with EPCS. Getting started with EPCS doesn’t have to be hard. Practice Fusion now offers our customers e-prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS) in 50 states:
Step 1: Sign up for an account and enable e-prescribing.

Enable e-prescribing
Before your account can be enabled for EPCS, you’ll need to enable e-prescribing for non-controlled substances.
Step 2: Set up EPCS
Enter your DEA number
A valid DEA registration number provides authorization to write prescriptions for controlled substances.
Verify your identity
We’ve partnered with a credentialed service provider, to meet specific DEA requirements for verifying your identity and e-signing prescriptions for controlled substances.
Set up e-signing of prescriptions for controlled substances
Have your practice administrator grant you permission to e-sign and download our service provider’s smartphone application. You’ll need this application to sign each prescription of a controlled substance.
Step 3: Start e-prescribing all medications, including controlled substances.
You’re now able to e-prescribe all medications, including controlled substances.
Don’t forget, you’ll need the following to activate EPCS
A smartphone
You’ll need to e-sign each prescription of a controlled substance using an app on your smartphone.
A valid DEA number
A valid DEA registration number provides authorization for a health care provider to write prescriptions for controlled substances.
